Isle of Wight Festival has announced that the festival due to take place in June has been cancelled, with the following statement:
"The Isle of Wight Festival will no longer be taking place this year. This decision hasn't been taken lightly and we have tried our hardest to make it work, but it was unavoidable given the current status.
The whole team was excited to welcome everyone to the island for another fantastic festival and we extend our sincere apologies to everyone who was looking forward to it as much as we were.
The safety of our audience, artists, crew and the Isle of Wight community is paramount and we appreciate your patience whilst we’ve been working through this unprecedented situation.
We’ll be back stronger than ever in 2021 and we hope to see you all again next year.
You now have two options regarding your ticket purchase.
We would love for you to join us next year so you can transfer your ticket to the 2021 event. If you are on a deposit scheme we will be pausing this for a short time and will contact you again shortly with new payment dates so you can complete payment and transfer your ticket.
Or, if you would prefer a refund at this time, you can of course request that.
Scheduled instalment payments will be paused and we will contact those on instalment plans who want to retain their ticket to confirm a new payment schedule.
If you booked ferry travel with Red Funnel, Wightlink or Hovertravel please go to the Isle of Wight Festival website for information regarding your booking.
We hope everyone stays safe and we’ll see you in 2021."
So what happens now?
The dates for Isle of Wight 2021 are 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th June. Customers who opted to carry their tickets over will have received further information regarding transferring their tickets.
Customers who didn't opt for tickets to be transferred will be contacted to confirm once a refund has been processed. The latest you can expect to receive your refund will be May 1st 2020.
